What is Pilates?

Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. With systematic practice of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing patterns, Pilates has proven itself invaluable not only for general fitness, but also is an important complement to professional sports training and rehabilitation of all kinds.

Pilates is ideal during normal healthy pregnancy to maintain strength and balance, to avoid common pregnancy problems and to prepare for delivery. It is also excellent as a post-natal exercise routine when fatigue, weakened abdominals, demands of breastfeeding and day-to-day care of a baby make it so difficult for women to regain their strength and figure.

In my studio I am pleased to offer you a work out that will leave you feeling revitalised and moving with ease.

I am pleased to offer regular Studio Sessions and private classes on a 1 to 1 basis.

Pilates Studio Sessions
Studio sessions offer you the chance to follow a unique programme in a semi private environment. (maximum of 3 people at any time). The sessions are on Pilates equipment and are suitable for all levels. After completing the Introduction Course, you will have an individual plan and be able to continue at your own level. Your program will be structured as you progress and will be comprehensive and complete. Every session will be recorded and I can constantly review it as you improve.

Private Sessions
Private classes are offered to anyone who prefers 1 to 1 tuition. They are also recommended in some cases of rehabilitation for a short period of time.

Introduction Course
The 1 to 1 environment is essential for me to learn about your relevant medical history, assess your posture and muscular imbalances, teach you the basics of Pilates and get you familiar with the equipment. After completing the course you will join the studio sessions.

I do also offer a very limited number of matwork classes. Please call for availability. Before joining a matwork class you must complete the Introduction course.
